What's on my face

Now I know I do a fair few posts on what I've purchased and my thoughts on them, but very few on what I wear them with! I'm currently working a lot of shifts at my part time work place (a little pasty shop) to which it gets very hot and the greasiness does not do wonders for my make-up! In these circumstances I turn to trusted favourites that I know don't budge that (just about) last through an 8 hour shift!

So, what's on my face? Starting with the base, I've been using Benefits porefessional followed by Rimmel match perfection foundation (I use 200 soft beige and the real techniques buffing brush). I love this foundation and have re-purchased it a few times. I like the medium coverage which can be built up easily and the very slight glow it gives my skin. For my tired old eyes, I use collection lasting perfection concealer. This stays put a little longer than other concealers I have, although it does start I crease around mid - day (only when I'm at work) so I have to do a lunch time touch up. If things are bad I set it using rimmel's stay matte powder, but too many products on my face leaves me looking like a greasy mess come the end of my shift. For a bit colour I use Mac's Plum Foolery. I adore this blusher. I have used it every day in what seems like forever using my Bobbi Brown blush brush. For eyes I use a Laura Mercier eyeliner on my waterline in Espresso with Mac's Opulash and Cliniques bottom last mascara. This Clinique mascara is new to me, but so far so good! I used to wear eyeshadow, but regardless of primer, they creased almost instantly due to the steam of being in dishwash. To finish off, I am loving the Max Factor lipfinity lip tint (01). This lasts well and fades nicely so I don't have to worry on dodgy lipstick if I don't have a break in time to reapply.

So there it is, my slightly rambling post on my work day make-up. Once I get a proper tri pod I'm going to include a few more of the "what's on my face" type of posts, so let me know if there's any look in particular you'd like to see!

Smashbox studio skin 15 hour foundation

Last week, while on my quest for a final Christmas present for my Gran, I stumbled across the new Smashbox beauty desk in Boots on Portsmouth's high street. The whole "premium" make-up area has had a shift around, with Benefit replaces Dior *cry* and Smashbox taking over a previous display wall. I love Smashbox eyeshadow's and I prefer them to the MAC one's. I find them a little softer, but that's probably just me. Anyway, I got chatting to the lovely Lee about Marketing (I'm networking for Summer placements literally anywhere) and got persuaded to try some of their foundation. I received a sample of their Photo finish primer (the clear one) in Vogue some time in the last year and loved it! But with the lack of presence of Smashbox in Portsmouth, I bought pore professional instead.

Back to the foundation, it has amazing coverage and over their hydrating primer, lasted all day with no budging what so ever. it was also a lot lighter than the Estee Lauder Double wear. I am very impressed! I got given a sample, which I plan to test on my next night out to see what it's like in slightly warmer situations, but so far so good.

One thing I will say is do not go by any colour samples on their website. I am the shade "Light Beige 2.1" which is perfect, but online looks like a washed out grey. Another example is their lipstick shades. I'll include an example of this below. The larger image of their red lipstick is exactly that, red, but their swatches on the side for their true red shade "legendary" is a berry colour... Think this needs sorting out!

21/10/13

It's come to my attention that while writing a blog I'm coming to have to over come my fear of close up pictures. Thankfully while only using my phone as my camera at the moment due to the loss of the camera charger (I must tidy my room) photo quality is too poor to see me properly!

I'm rarely a girl to just wear jeans a t-shirt. Zara jeans fit me perfectly but I just don't think they ever look very good! And today was no different. It was drizzling this morning so my initial thoughts turned to footwear. What ever I wore would have to be leather. While I was mulling over an outfit to wear with a pair of studded boots I was running late so decided to do make-up first.

Make-up:
Pore Professional by Benefit
Oxygen Wow foundation (sample) by Benefit
Get Even powder by Benefit
Dior crayon eyeliner
Masterpiece Max Factor mascara
"Strong Women" MAC lipstick
Universal Contour Dior lip-liner

Outfit:
Deep red thigh spilt skirt - TKMaxx
Black scoop neck top - Tesco
Denim Jacket - Newlook
Long Gold earrings - Mango
Gold sweetie ring - Links of London
Black Toy watch
Michael Kors Black Tote

I'm yet to own a black leather jacket which I think would have looked better with this outfit.
I put my hair in a high messy bun to avoid it going frizzy in the rain.

What did you wear today?
